From Data to Fair Decisions: How to Achieve Equal Pay Readiness
Equal Pay legislation is tightening across Europe, with mandatory reporting duties from 2027, stricter requirements for “work of equal value” and a reversal of the burden of proof in discrimination claims. For HR leaders, this is not simply about meeting legal requirements. It is about building the structures and data foundations that protect against costly legal disputes, strengthen trust, and enhance the organisation’s reputation as a fair and attractive employer.
Even organisations that already pay fairly need to be able to prove it with evidence-based documentation. That means more than just pay data. A consistent job architecture with clear and gender-neutral definitions, skills, competencies and responsibilities provides the framework to compare roles objectively, identify risks early, and ensure assessments stand up to regulatory scrutiny.
In this 20-minute session, we will explore three practical steps to prepare:
1. The New Equal Pay Reality – Understand the legal requirements, including reporting obligations, the “work of equal value” principle and the reversal of the burden of proof.
2. Preparing for Compliance – Learn how to establish a job architecture with gender neutral job profiles, that include objective information such as skills, competencies or qualifications and enables objective, gender-neutral comparisons.
3. Salary and Analysis Data for Readiness – Identify the pay, demographic, performance and role-related data required to calculate and justify pay differences transparently.
By the end, you will have a clear roadmap to prepare your organisation not only to comply with Equal Pay legislation by understanding the regulatory requirements, know which data to gather and maintain, see practical ways to obtain and manage it, and recognise how a clear job architecture enables objective, defensible Equal Pay analysis.

PARTNER

COLMEIA is a Munich-based HR technology company offering specialised software tools for building robust job architectures that form the backbone of effective workforce management. Our expertise lies in turning complex job and skills data into structured, actionable insights, that empower organisations to make fair, transparent, and defensible pay decisions.
We believe Equal Pay compliance begins long before any audit. It starts with accurate, consistent, and comparable job data. We help organisations establish a unified job catalog, define grading differentiators, and map skills and responsibilities in a standardised way. This clarity enables companies to assess ‘work of equal value’ and meet evolving regulatory requirements with confidence.
However, our approach goes far beyond Equal Pay. A strong job architecture also ensures organisations maximise the value of their HCM investments by providing clean, structured data that integrates seamlessly with HR systems. In addition, it offers leaders a strategic view of their organisation, making it easier to plan for growth, anticipate skill needs, and align workforce capabilities with business objectives.
With our data-driven methodology and software, companies can move beyond compliance to create a foundation for sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and a culture of fairness.
