Outstanding CI & MI achievements in the spotlight:
LEMO SA, Philips Healthcare and PepsiCo are the official winners of the CiMi.CON Award 2017
On June 25 – 27, 2017, more than 300 competitive & market intelligence professionals and market research experts from all over globe came together for we.CONECT’s co-located conferences CiMi.CON Evolution and Pharma CiMi.CON to exchange knowledge, experiences & best practices and to discuss current trends in the CI / MI scene as well as the most pressing challenges in a fast changing competitive environment.
On the evening of the 1st conference day, attendees from both conferences gathered at the networking dinner and the festive ceremony of the 4th CiMi.CON Award, a prestigious prize recognizing, honoring and celebrating outstanding projects and achievements by industry leaders in competitive and market intelligence.
Congratulations to the three winners
Prior to the award ceremony, an independent jury consisting of Almudena Berzosa (General Market Intelligence Lead CM/SM COE, Global Enterprise Procurement at Johnson & Johnson), Oliver Wegner (Head of Strategic Market Intelligence at Deutsche Post DHL Group) and Alexander Jung (Senior Manager Ecosystem and Technology Intelligence at Deutsche Telekom AG) evaluated all submitted applications in order to nominate the top 3 projects for the award final. The three nominees had the chance to present their achievements on stage in front of the 150+ guests of the CiMi.CON networking dinner. In the end, it was the audience, i.e. the on-site CiMi.CON community, who decided on the final ranking of the nominees by means of a live voting which was integrated in the event app.
Congratulations to the winner of the CiMi.CON Award 2017: LEMO SA with their Shape the Future Challenge. The project, which encourages cross-functional collaboration for innovation, is a smashing success for the company and helps to create a safe and open space for dialogue in which employees could express and test their ideas, collaboratively develop and improve them to shape future challenges. Moderator Joost Drieman from we.CONECT’s business partner M-Brain had the pleasure to welcome Mathieu Menet on stage. LEMO’s Innovation Manager finally convinced the audience and was therefore awarded the 1st place trophy and 1,000 € which were donated to the charity organization GermanNow!, an initiative that offers free German language lessons for migrants and refugees.
A deserving second place went to Philips Healthcare for the development of a whole new CI program called Win More. It brings insights of competitive counter value differentiation to the sales force, thereby helping to defend price strategies and win more business. The team around Loon Lee achieved to reach their sales force worldwide and support value-based selling to prevent price erosion and help protect margin of businesses.
The third winner was Brandon Warshaw from PepsiCo who presented the company’s Global Savory Category Growth & Mix Influencers Analysis. The project identified key global trends impacting snack consumption, making it possible to understand the effects of economic and cultural shifts by deconstructing their impacts on category growth and composition. This enabled global and regional/local teams to collaboratively develop strategies that have positioned PepsiCo’s global snacks portfolio to capture opportunities and mitigate challenges over the next 5 years.
