SPMS Europe, Dr. Michael Gerstlauer, Associate Partner IoT, Cloud & Analytics from IBM, held a case study on the transformation of manufacturing processes by major forces like sensors, data analytics and AI. These technologies leave their marks on processes, customer interactions, R&D projects and organizations as a whole. Yet – it is a journey from traditional manufacturing setups to connected, self regulating process chains. Various capabilities, technologies, skills and organizational changes are required to make this vision a reality.
